Mir is no troll. Nich would never invite a troll to break bread with him in his home.

Mir may be a zebra though

I wanted to let everyone know from Green Squadron about a new thread I posted. This thread has the intent of being a place where individuals practice writing or working on characters. It is also a place where Green Squadron members can practice writing together.

If you're interested, it is called Tales from the Exodus Cantina.

The main link is http://www.sw-e.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=12067
The OOC thread that goes over the specifics is http://www.sw-e.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12065

This is also a great opportunity for us to write some potential backstory for our existing green squadron characters as well as a familiar hangout between the group. :)

I'll get my finishing post up tonight or tomorrow with Kraven, and then basically To'ran will be waiting for everyone to show up, and will personally greet them as they enter the shuttle, so maybe some sappy sentimental/humorous type responses from everyone as they enter the shuttle after To'ran greets them.

So wait for my next post, or continue the conversation in the ready room, and that should take up enough time for us until Mir the Megalomaniac returns from his 'vacation'. *smirk*

I have to confess, that post of mine just now was already pre-written several days ago. I only had to modify it slightly because Jess' arrival to the shuttle had changed but most of it is still intact. Long story short, that remark I made about latrine duty was in there before Ty and To'ran had done their thing today which is really creepy. It's almost as if Nich was reading my mind...

See, you and Nich are on the same page, the question lies in how in the world did my writing up Ty getting in trouble go in line with that. After all, Ty was just... well I'll save that for the thread.

Before possibly writing myself in a corner during this thread, I should probably know... Is Jess force sensitive? And who else is force sensitive is this squadron?

Mae and Ty are not... they just have their awesome twin-link that no one else knows about. But I want to make sure I am not writing something that is difficult on any particular characters either.

I figured my recent "jedi" mention was organic, so I went ahead with it. I just want to make sure I am on the same page with everybody else.

(eeeee don't kill me if i'm wrong pryngles)

I think Jess is force-sensitive, yes.

Kraven is as well, though I'd only say about 5,000-6,000 Midi count, so he's not really jedi-level, just enough to make him a good fighter pilot but without making him a piloting machine, he just takes it as luck.

And yeah, I think the whole jedi think was fine, I would imagine people to think all force-sensitives or lightsaber-wielding warriors are jedi.

Yes, Jess is Force Sensitive and she doesn't believe in Jedi. Irony!

Personally, I don't buy into the midichlorian thing. There's a reason it's not mentioned at all in Episode 2 and only one time in Episode 3 and not at all in Episode 7. In my mind you're either Force Sensitive or you're not, but there are varying degrees of sensitivity.

The issue, I believe, is perception.

Many believe this--
Pryde2000 wrote:there are varying degrees of sensitivity.
is represented by the midichlorian thing. It's kind of like Newtonian thoughts on Gravity. He viewed it as a law of nature that was consistent. As far as he could test and understand, he believed it was consistent.

Then we made it to the moon. Gravity was different.
It's not that Newton's theory became invalid... rather, his understanding of force was expounded upon and his theory was proved even more accurate by commander scott dropping a hammer and feather at the same time.

The force of gravity was explained further... after its initial discovery... and eventually called a newton.

Now, a newton meant nothing to Isaac Newton himself, because the term itself hadn't been identified yet. The SI hadn't been conceived yet... but gravity was still a thing.

So there's no more confusion. Listed under weapons there, lightsaber. She doesn't have it yet but that's where we're going.

See the thing about midichlorians is that it detracts from the mysticism of the Force. That's why they're so reviled. It explains scientifically something that's supposed to feel very spiritual.

I see your point... but as the series progressed, Lucas couldn't decide if he wanted to be spiritual, scientific, fantastical, or intellectual. So he chose to somehow miss the point on all of the above.

That was a little harsh. But Lucas' personal views changed so much from '77-'03 that the movies had a hard time keeping up.

With that being said... I love the idea that some in the Exodus galaxy lean hard on the fact that it is a scientific thing... refusing to believe in the mysticism of it all... While others believe it is more spiritual, granting favor and learning to work in tandem with the individual who is force sensitive. I think this creates a pretty awesome dynamic within Green Squadron... And I like it 8)

Then there are those who are actually Force Sensitive and don't believe in it at all. :P

I totally need to work that into a post somehow.

Also, Force Sensitive and kind of a clutz. I do things like that with my characters. I find little contradictions amusing.

Pretty sure we have seven or eight people in a squadron of twelve. Kraven is technically our thirteenth since he's coming from another squadron. So we have about three or four open spots left.

Ok I am about to bring in a new wrinkle to Greed Squadron. Hope you boys can handle it.

Name: Valexia Morey (Pronounced More Rey) or Val (by her friends)
Species : Zeltron
Age: 25 standard years
Height: 5'10
Weight: 155
Hair: Purple
Skin: Light pink
Eyes: Violet

Bio: Zeltron's were bred for beauty. For generations, they did everything they could to keep themselves as the most beautiful race in a galaxy. A title that was well deserved. However, Valexia hated it. She was tired of being looked at like an object and her race discarded by the rest of the universe as being nothing but objects to look at. She is a warrior. He ran away from home early and went into special training for being a bodyguard and pilot. She loved to fight so it suited her well. She carries two Westar-34 pistols on her hips and is very good with them. She hates having to stoop to using her looks or her heritage for things, but she has come to an understanding that it is needed at times in order to get the job done. She is not very friendly and she likes to stay under a black cloak more than reveal who she is to those around her.

Valexia Morey
