Oremin Returns...

Post by Halomek »

Oremin, my little shadow government that I started over a year ago is coming back. After some fine-tuning I believe I have the elements in place to make it a truly great story/government.

Anyone who posted on the original is more than welcome to join in on the new thread with your old characters or new ones (Croft, Nilanna, & Kal_Thoran, this means you. ;) ). I’m also looking for others who might be interested in joining. I just have two stipulations, I’d really love it if you were aware of basic punctuation (spaces between paragraphs and the like), and that you have staying power (although I might make an exception if I like you enough ;) ).

I do have an idea on how I want this to start and proceed, but it still leaves plenty of room for contributions to the story. I think it’ll be fun, so here’s your chance to get in. If you’re interested, then please post here and we’ll get something worked out.

For more info on Oremin, take a look here: http://www.geocities.com/halomek

Any questions, concerns, or comments can be placed on this thread.

I’ll have a link to the actual thread once it’s up.

Sweet baby Jesus! You really have put a lot of thought into this!

BTW, nice work on the website. :)

However i was wondering, would you perchance happen to have room for an extra starfighter squadron within your little shadow govt? Perhaps a black ops squadron?

I don't really need a starfighter squadron, but I could use a captain for a starship. And hey, if you want, you can make a squadron for that ship in addition to the captain. I'm very flexible.

I'd love to have you aboard, Tal. :)

BTW, I've got a post up on Temptation Waits.

A ship Captain eh? I could work with that.

All i have to do now is read the rather extensive background material on Oremin you've put up on the website. It should only take me a week. :)

Great, I'll send ya a little email with more specifics. Basically, how I’d like your character to start off and how the thread will evolve. Nothing major, I promise.

Nice post, Tal. You're free to continue on to the next phase of the mission. Nilanna and Kal will start posting once we enter Laro...

Go ahead and start us off with the Scion's assault on Laro Prime, Tal. It's the signal to put the rest of the plan in motion. I'm trying to coax a post out of Nilanna, but he's even worse than you when it comes to posting. :P ;)

Speaking of which, I've put up a new post on Temptation Waits.

And if you want me to put up info on Sorokin, Lavigne, or the Scion just email me with the docs and I'll add them to the site.

Sorry, I'll have a post up by tonight, or perhaps tomorrow, or the next day...

Hell, at the very latest it'll be up by New Year.

*cough*

That's not slacking, that's... um... a mix of time constraints and writer's block. It'll be finished, even if it takes another year. I'll never let it die completely. 8)

If you're still recruiting, I'm interested. I only have...what...15 other threads? ;)

As for staying power...look through my threads and see what you think. (It's usually the others who quit, but...)

I'll be looking forward to your reply :)

Well, I'd like to have you, but I'm not quite sure where you'd fit in at the moment.

I'm always open to suggestions and ideas though.

Maybe a ship captain (though the gods know you got enough as it is) or a SpecOps kinda guy - maybe even a scientist...but if it doesn't fit at the moment, I'll wait until there's room :)
And thanks for considering me :)

I'm curious Tal, did you have anything planned to happen with Nash and Lavigne, or should I just have him land in Soral in my next post?

This (along with the numerous other govs) is indeed basically what that big map is all about.

I currently don't need any more people in the thread as we are just setting things up now and more people would just tend to make clutter. However, in the future when I have this thing running like a proper gov, then I'll be letting more people in - perhaps even branching off into different threads.

And, just to make sure people don't miss it, I'll make an announcement about it on this thread.

If you're still interested at that time, then you're welcome to join. I've also got other people waiting, so you're not alone, Yimmarans. :)

BTW, what kind of role would you be interested in playing?

From what I read in 'Red Pill', I'm curious Tal, are you still interested in Oremin?
Not being someone who RP’s in the main board timeline I don’t really mind whether it is restarted or not.
That was the sentence that makes me bring this up.

Yes, i'm still interested.

Where i guess i was coming from was that as someone who is neither the head of a government/corporation, nor someone who currently interacts outside of a single thread, i'm not all that fussed about a restart.

:D Okay, just checking. If you ever want to try something different (like being a spy) you can always create another character. There are no set limits. ;)

Right now we are just laying the foundation, things should get much more interesting once that is setup.

Along those same lines, Tal, I know it has been awhile, but did you still want to write that hangar scene between Nash and Lavigne? I know I've already asked this, but considering the amount of time Exodus has been down, I figured I'd ask again. ;)
