Fate's Edge OOC

Post by Pryde »

So this is for when the reboot starts. This thread will be the start of Felicity's Hero's Journey. The story opens up on Ord Mantell at the junk shop she works at. A guy comes in and tries to pawn off an old, busted lightsaber and that's the catalyst that start's Felicity's journey. From there she gets on a ship with a crew and they go planet hopping from place to place having wacky adventures and getting into all sorts of trouble while being relentlessly pursued by the First Order. Sooo, that's basically the premise for the whole thing now if anyone's interested I could use a ship and a crew. ;)

Still trying to figure out what the Ord is going to mean if anything. Also was going to use a lightsaber introduction as a kickoff for something so Mir hates you. *poke with a stick*

I have absolutely no idea what any of that actually means so I'm just going to pretend that plan A worked and everything's going according to plan.

A motion in limine (Latin: "at the start", literally, "on the threshold") is a motion filed by a party to a lawsuit which asks the court for an order or ruling limiting or preventing certain evidence from being presented by the other side at the trial of the case.

By the way, I realized I hadn't mentioned anything about this yet but this thread is open and any character is welcome to join... Well, almost any. For this thread and this thread alone I would prefer to limit the amount of Force users to just Felicity. Any other thread I have is fair game for Force users, but for this thread I'd prefer to have Felicity sort of struggle with it alone for awhile. I do plan to introduce a mentor type figure for her later and I could open that role up to someone if I wanted, buuut... See, the catch is mentor characters in Star Wars sort of--well, you know... Let's just say they have a history. >.>

Oooh, I like killing characters.

I'm trying to follow all the threads in the new MBT for now. I'm not committing, but I will be keeping an eye on you.

That sounded creepy rather than supportive. I meant supportive.

Well I've got a ship and a small crew with no plans yet. Female Twi'lek captain, Barabel co-pilot, and ex-Imperial (not First Order) Stormtrooper as 3rd member of the crew.

Twi'lek is definitely going to be a female version of Han Solo/Malcolm Reynolds. We don't have enough bad ass female spacers that AREN'T Jedi on the forums. Barabel is more or less the faithful sidekick. Stormtrooper is an older man who deeply regrets his participation in the Galactic Civil War.

The Barabel might get replaced by a droid. That one isn't set in stone. However, the Twi'lek and the Stormtrooper will be there for sure.

So, um... After struggling with trying to figure out where this is going next I decided instead to simply reboot the thread. The bad guys need a more substantial plot and it's starting to look like I might need to add a few more characters to really get this going.

Definitely being taken care of. Pryde, I sent you a beautiful (if I do say so myself) correction of the direction of the initial story. The reboot should be able to go off of that. I think it will correct the problem of "why?" without altering the story in a way that forces the characters down a specific path.

Okay, so while I'm waiting on word from Enriler a bit of an update. The thread's being reworked and I suggested going full on Star Wars: Rebels with the reboot. The suggestion I gave to Enriler (which is probably going to triple his responsibility in the thread :P ) is that he will basically be running a group of rebels trying to resist the oppression of the First Order in the Unknown Regions. Felicity basically plays the role of Ezra and gets caught up in it by sheer coincidence and we fly around the galaxy making trouble for the Empi--First Order... >.>

Again the thread is open to participation if anyone wants to join. For the time being the cast is limited to non-Forcers unless for some crazy reason Enriler turns down the job of Kanan in which case we'll talk. ;)

So, I have decided to alter Enriler's backstory some... And also keep it hidden to many people. Enriler will be "Kanan," and going into this story, Enriler will be 45yrs old. He will have learned many lessons, already lost his mentor, and is not looking for someone to train. But he doesn't always get his way.

His backstory will come in a future thread.
