I am loving the stripped down and real feel to this (as much as Star Wars can be) Should be really cool. My only question is, where are the other aliens?

Don't forget this is back when "aliens" were killed by the Empire for not being human. They subjugated every non-human species so there probably won't be a lot.

Just curious, was this addressed in Rebels? Because it was never mentioned in the OT. If this was an EU exclusive thing, we can't say that's the case anymore.

Looks very interesting indeed! I love that we're back in the classic Star Wars universe too!

Lot's of speculation on who the Imperial Bad guys is, too many people are saying he's a Grand Admiral due to the white uniform, but as far as I can see he's wearing a normal Admiral's Rank Insignia. My Guess is ISB. What do you reckon?

Oh, I just assumed that was Tarkin.

I guess I didn't think about it much. And I only watched the trailer once.

I'm really losing my Star Wars nerd street cred.

Guy looked like he had a lightsaber. Might be an inquisitor?

Looks more like a blaster to me. Unless it's an Ezra lightsaber.

Looks like a grand admiral to me, but I don't know my rank insignias that well. It'd also be super-weird for an admiral of any sort to be on the ground in a firefight, if indeed the white-caped fella later on is still him.

I'm pretty sure that was Tarkin but the uniform looked white so he could have been an alliance guy. I'm leaning Tarkin though.

I'm more stoked or at least intrigued by the person kneeling before the Emperor.

I don't know if it's Tarkin.

I recognize the face as the guy who as John Daggett in TDKR.
Wikipedia has this, which, understandably, is woefully opaque: Ben Mendelsohn as an Imperial admiral[8]

He just don't look like a young Tarkin to me.

He couldn't be a young Tarkin. This movie doesn't take place that long before ANH. Basically, Tarkin should look exactly as he does in the original trilogy.

I think Felicity Jones' character might be the new canon version of Mara Jade.

I'm pretty sure he's just a new character. I mean, really, does it have to be someone we already know about? I'd be perfectly happy if it isn't Tarkin and, honestly, moreso if it isn't Thrawn, either. If they bring in Thrawn, I'd like to see him as close to how I would expect to see him as possible. Which means, for starters, not some middle-aged human.

If they had wanted Tarkin, wouldn't they have tried using Wayne Pygram (Tarkin cameo from RoTS) again? I'm going with new character, maybe a special forces commander, in charge of the shadow troopers.
