Lynx flinched as the dull sound of exploding glass broke into her quiet conversation with Sever. She jumped out of her chair and stormed out of the room.

"What the hell?"

Lynx kicked the closed door of Thomas's office open, and found glass all over the floor and the three occupants inside. She helped James up, and saw who the third occupant was.

"Falcon? What the frell are you doing here? And what the heck just happened?" she growled.

"Somebody's after the Hive!" Falcon replied quickly.

Lynx narrowed her eyes. "So they did a drive by? How ingenieus..." she muttered, kicking a pile of the shattered glass. "Why're you here?"

"To warn Thomas," Falcon replied uneasily.

"You better be telling the truth, Falcon," Lynx snarled.

"What happened to old friend, huh Lynx?" Falcon asked. "You used to trust me. Someone is out to get us, now why don't you believe me?"

"Out to get you, you mean. We wouldn't have had any problem if you hadn't come," Lynx pointed out. "They followed you here."

"I'm sorry, Dierdre, but leaves have been cancelled," Kai said as he tried to explain to his wife why he could not return home. "Everything is a mess. There is a Rebel cell that is acting up, and a drive by shooting has been reported. Everyone is being put on alert."

Dierdre's look of concern survived the transmission. "You will be safe? Everything will be alright?"

Kai nodded. "I will be fine, dear. Tell the kids that I will be back soon. I love you." After his wife bid him farewell, he turned off the holoprojector. Sighing, Kai rubbed his sleep deprived eyes.

A slight shifting of the feet brought his attention to the man standing in his office doorway. "Yes?" Kai asked.

"Sir, the preliminary results of the interrogations of the prisoners is complete." The trooper handed Kai a disk. "They revealed nothing of terrible importance, not even for whom they were working for. However, they did say why they shot up the skate rink."

"Thank you, Private." Kai dismissed the trooper with a wave of his hand. He popped the disk into his computer and began reviewing the report. Scrolling quickly to the section reporting the reason of the attack, Kai read diligently. The skate rink is the place I am looking for? Bah! Right there! And I did not even suspect the place!

Closing the report, Kai pulled up a file of the skate rink's blueprints, and began planning his assault.

"Beautifully put, Lynx," Thomas said as he attempted to stand, "I couldn't have put it better myself."

"But, Thomas--" Falcon started before Thomas cut him off. "Last night I heard reports about a recent drug bust the Imperials pulled. Now as far as I am aware of the Imperials had no leads on that operation yet somehow they managed to magically find it. You wouldn't know anything about that now would you, Falcon?"
_______________________________________________________________________

Mai awoke with a start to the sound of blaster shots. She had fallen asleep at her desk again and her computer was still playing the game she had started last night. Dimly she could hear shouts and screams from above. What the frell is going on, she asked herself quietly then she remembered the Imperials from last night. "Oh my god," she said aloud with a sharp intake of breath. Kiana! The woman had yet to emerge from the bedroom, I have to warn her! But then, just as suddenly as it had appeared, the blaster fire was gone and an eerie silence remained...

"No there here to get someone else, they think I'm on my way Kessel. At least untill now." The name of the dreaded penal colony/spice mine hung in the air, everyone seemed to cringe some noticbly others only a smiget.

"Yes that right, they were going to send me to Kessel for frickin street racing. You don't ever come back from there."

"Then how are you back here?" Thomas asked skepticaly.

"I got lucky and was able to escape from the station when two rookie cops tried to escort me to the ship. Thomas someone wants your organzitation to die around you. Jaxx, Raptor, how can you think that there is a leak in here, you have tighter security than Hutts. Someone is trying to kill or get rid of everyone you rely on then kill you. Someone is making a move against you somebody big. You can believe me or you can deny it. But at least move the Hive off coruscant-

"OFF CORUSCANT ARE YOU NUTS!" he shouted.

"No I'm serious the cops know your here, some one has a good layout on how we operate. If we dont get out of here we will get caught or worse.."

Sever had just returned to the med bay when the drive by attack occurred. Oddly enough, the man didn’t even so much as flinch as the noise of the assault erupted through the building. In his mind, sounds were catalogued and subject to analysis, but there seemed to be no direct threat to him. Not yet anyway.

Absentmindedly, Sever took up his vibro blades, and strapped them back on to his arms and legs. Funny how their presence made him feel complete.

Lynx had said that he was a weapon – if so, what were these blades? Part of himself?

What an empty life he lead – right now – there was nothing for him at all. He lay down on the little med bay bed, and as if a switch had been flipped, he was asleep. His altered metabolism wouldn’t let him sleep long, but the rest would be vital to refresh his body.

Elsewhere in the Hive, people were trying to understand the implications of the attack and other events. But for Sever – an hour of dreamless sleep.

"Look, Falcon," Thomas replied wearily, "I don't have any time for your games. A lot of stuff is happening right now and I'm at wit's end!"

Falcon looked about to say more, but Thomas held up his hand to forestall him. "I'm really incredibly busy right now, so if you'll just step outside we can discuss this later. I have other more pressing matters to attend to at the moment."

He turned over to Lynx who was eyeing Falcon with suspicion. "Lynx, I need you to go and fetch Tybalt, and Vi' for me. Oh and see to it Mai finds her way to my office too. I have a very important mission for all of you..."

'More Pressing?!' John thought to himslef as he got up and left the room, 'he was just in a drive by, and he acts like I called them in, who has been talking to him? He's had problems with other employees before, damn does he really think I'm the traitor, Shit this aint good. Maybe I should have been nicer to that Twi'Lek guy from Jabba who asked me to betray these guys. If I hadn't killed Jabba's guy before the race maybe I could have talked more. Sithspit, my friends dont trust me and I have a hit on my head.' John walked down the hall and collected his weapons. He went back down the hall and out back into the small garage, a few guys were walking around with worried faces.

John grabbed a small box and sat down on it and flicked on the holonet in the corner...

Lynx nodded. She exited the room, her long gait covering ground quickly as she walked down the hall. Tapping in a code on a sealed door panel, she stepped halfway in the room to look at its occupants.

"Tybalt, Vi, let's go," she said.

The female Twi'lek looked up, her grey eyes sparkling with the smirk she always wore. "What's up, Lynx? You looked harassed," she said.

"You're room is amazingly soundproof...someone just did a drive by on Thomas's office," Lynx replied.

"What?" Tybalt stood up.

"Right after Falcon showed up," Lynx said with a nod.

"Falcon?" Vi raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah...anyway, Thomas says he's got a mission for us," Lynx said with a smirk. "I was bored anyway...hopefully he's not sending us out soon, I need some sleep."

"Sounds good..." Tybalt squeezed Lynx's shoulder and Vi bumped shoulders gently with the young assasin as they exited the room to go to Thomas's office. Lynx went the opposite way down the hall and into Mai's room. Mai was already awake.

"What was that?" she asked softly.

"Drive by," Lynx replied. "Thomas wants to talk to you. We've got ourselves a new mission."

For most of the night, Kiana had not slept very well. Her mind responded to every sound that would rupture the silence in the room, jolting her awake. It was always how the scientists tested if Kiana's reflexes were quick enough. She had exceeded their expectations, but they were still not satisfied. Sitting silently in bed, Kiana's breathing slowed.

That is, until a sudden staccato of laser fire and shattering glass frightened Kiana. The ruckus echoed in her mind, her eardrum had grown extremely sensitive to sound. However, within moments, only the falling of several shards of glass resonated in Kiana's mind. Programmed instincts sprung to life as Kiana rose from the mattress. There was no need to panic, Kiana realized, striding quickly to the closet. Pulling the duffle bag from a corner, the woman rummaged about before finding seven daggers. Concealing each in small slips about her attire, Kiana drew the case of the sniper rifle from the duffle bag.

Dark memories threatened to overtake Kiana as she reluctantly opened the case. In the darkness of the room, she could only make out a faint silhouette of the sniper rifle. Drawing it from the case, Kiana realized that this was her first time holding an actual rifle since her escape. That doesn't matter now she grimly noted, running her slender fingers across the barrel of the sniper rifle.

With one precise shot, Kiana could end someone's life in a mere second. That thought frightened her as she strapped it across her back. The compact form of the sniper rifle gave it a light feeling, but yet so deadly. Revealing a shadowy cloak from the interior of the duffle bag, Kiana gathered it about her. This, too, had been Splice's and it was a security blanket to Kiana.

Standing near the open doorway, Kiana could hear hushed voices from the living space.

"What was that...?" Mai's frightened voice triggered an odd emotion in Kiana: sympathy.

"Drive by... Thomas wants to talk to you. We've got ourselves a new mission," a female voice replied as Kiana recognized that it belonged to the one named Lynx.

Kiana stepped from the darkened shroud of Mai's room as Lynx's eyes shifted to the sudden movement. Looking the woman in the eyes, Kiana felt the Lab's programming kick in again. The predator's instinct dominated Kiana, filling her vessel with a grim determination.

"Should I come or should I stay? If you'll be engaging hostile targets... I'd love to take some out, seeing as how much you've done for me already," Kiana spoke evenly.

There was a definite sparkle in her eye when Vi’ heard that Thomas had a mission for her. Too long had she waited for an opportunity to employ her skills for the Hive. What really surprised her was mention of Falcon joining them. It DID seem like quite the coincidence though that there was an attack upon the hive shortly after his arrival. This intrigued the twi’lek, but she did not know why. It was not her place to worry about such things. She knew how most people felt about Falcon’s shady dealings, but as long as they did not interfere with her functions as an infiltrator, Vi'etka Pliant could care less.

As a general rule, an infiltrator traveled light, so by the time she was given the summons, all Vi’ had to do was grab her backpack. Depending on what the mission called for, she could bring either bags, or just her backpack. Until such a time as she deemed it necessary, Vi’ was only going to take her backpack.

On her way to the office, Vi’ stepped over several piles of debris that she did not recall being there her last trip to Thomas’s office. Exchanging glances with Tybalt, the two knocked on Thomas’s door. It opened immediately. Nodding to Falcon, Vi’ stepped into the windowless room.

“I like the new look Thomas, who is your interior decorator?” Vi’ replied with a mischievous gleam in her eye.

"Very funny, Vi'," Thomas replied lightly while pushing away a pile of debris from his desk. "As you can see everything here is in a bit of a mess right now. I don't need to remind you that the Hive has just been attacked."

He settled his portley butt into the chair behind his desk and steepled his fingers together, glancing over them at Vi' and Tybalt. "I believe this attack may in some way be connected with the Hutts."

A look of surprise flashed momentarily over their faces. "What I am going to tell you is top secret, no one should hear about it, understand?"

They both nodded. "As you know the outward appearance of the Hive is that of a skating rink, but truthfully it harbors a secret and well-developed criminal organizaton. What you don't know is how far this organization reaches. I have sources that go as far out as the Outer Territories and recently they have begun fighting with the Hutts. Casualties have been taken on both sides and there doesn't seem to be a possible end to the hostilities."

He paused and took a deap breath before leaning back in his chair and continuing. "Just recently I sent a large shipment of spice to Tatooine as a gesture of goodwill and as a peace offering. If all had gone well the battle for criminal dominance could have been over today, but the shipment was intercepted by an Imperial convoy. Naturally the ship was searched from stem to stern and the shipment was uncovered. It now sits in a very secure installation that is located in Coronet."

He leaned forward on his desk and fixed them both with a steely gaze, "Your job is simple, both of you are to fly to Corellia, infiltrate the installation, recover the shipment and complete the trip to Tatooine. It is of vital importance that the Hutts see that I am willing to end these hostilities. For this mission I am sending Mai with you, you may need to utilize her skills. Lynx will accompany you also, as well as any others of her choosing. Tybalt, go and get your ship ready for take-off, you are to leave immediately. I will send Mai and the others to you as soon as they arrive in my office."

They both nodded, then turned and were about to leave his office before Thomas stopped them suddenly. "One more thing," he told them as they were leaving, "Take Falcon with you. I don't need the man hanging around here getting in my way while I try to clean things up. But keep a careful eye on him, I don't want any surprises..."

IC:
"Tonight's operation will begin at 1900 hours. Our mission is to capture building A0967-CD in Sector 25B." Kai pressed a few buttons on the holoprojector's control panel, and the holographic map zoomed in to focus on a small building. "This is our objective. Charlie Platoon and Delta Platoon will attack from the east street. Alpha Platoon and Bravo Platoon will storm the building from its sewer accesses.

"In addition to the 16th, the 18th Assault Team will also participate." Kai nodded towards a tall big man standing in the back of the briefing room. "Captain Santin West has agreed to accompany the 16th, and its respective platoons will follow the 16th.

"The 83rd Support Company will be supplying armor for this operation. They will keep at bay any enemy fighters that may be present in the area, as well as provide fire support when needed."

Again, Kai manipulated the projector's control. Replacing the map were the interior blueprints of The Hive. The image split into two separate images; one for the first floor, and the other for the basement. "As you can see, the target building is separated into two floors: the ground level and basement.

"We believe that the first floor is primarily a cover operation. A skate rink will occupy 80% of the first floor's space. The remaining area should be taken up by miscellaneous rooms and furniture.

"The basement, however, should contain the undercover operation. Our sources say that computer mainframes as well as weapons caches occupy this floor. Accordingly, the basement will be the tougher area to assault."

Kai looked up at the assembled officers. "Remember, the skate rink will be a cake walk compared to the basement. Secure the first floor as soon as possible, and then support Alpha and Bravo Platoons."

Catching each soldier in the eye, Kai spoke clearly so that no one could misunderstand his words. "Remember, the skate rink will likely be filled with civilians. Assault teams that attack the first floor will set their blasters on stun. Minimize civilian casualties.

"Alpha and Bravo Platoons, I advise that you also set your weapons to stun. If we can capture these people alive, we can gather more information about their operation. Also remember that these people are citizens of the Empire. Even though they are criminals, they are our people. However, I will leave it to the individual sergeants to determine when lethal force is necessary.

"Everyone is dismissed. Prep your troops. We will be leaving in four hours."

OOC:
I will not post the assault until Mai and her friends are gone.

Tybalt, displeased with the way things were going, stood in the hallway beside Vi. He did not want to baby sit Falcon, nor did he want to be responsible for the lives of the rest of the team. His sighs, frowns, and glares made this disposition clear throughout most of the brief meeting with Thomas.

“Vi'etka, I’m going to the port to get the ship ready. Be prepared for my call,” he ordered.

After a peculiar silence, he turned away from his partner, and hurried out of the building and into the streets. He watched swarms of cars pass by, knowing that any one of them was a possible enemy. His family was in danger, but no one seemed to know what was going on. This was not a favorable situation, and Tybalt fully understood this.
Too many surprises at one time.

But too many things were happening for him to spend his time worrying. Tybalt darted to the edge of the street and motioned for a taxi.

There was a short wait, but soon Tybalt was sitting comfortably in a speeding robo-hack headed for the nearby starport. He tapped impatiently as the driver slowed, having to cater to the flow of traffic. The smuggler shifted to where he could see above and below the car, trying to find some way out of the jam. Unfortunately, it seemed like they were locked in from all sides.

“Look! Over there!” Tybalt said, motioning to a break between the cars. “Move in between them, and just head on through to the port.”

The driver only responded with a grin, and sped through the hovering cars. As they approached the bustling port, Tybalt identified the section in which his transport ship was held.

“Can you get me near the west entrance of the fourth level?”

“Sure thing.”

They driver lowered the cab, and landed on a platform near Tybalt’s desired destination. He gave the driver a fair payment, and hurried to the port’s entrance.

After he found his ship, Tybalt walked through the hatch and into the old YG-4210’s hull. He instinctively flicked the switch that controlled the interior lighting, revealing the small passenger section. There were seven seats, one of which was for a pilot. Tybalt cleared the seats of any clutter that had been left from previous occupants. He sorted some old containers in the cargo hold, and inspected the rest of the ship. Things were in working order; he was ready for the mission.

"...Thomas wants to talk to you. We've got ourselves a new mission," for a brief moment Mai wondered what the mission could possibly be before Kiana silently emerged from the bedroom. Kiana had a look of grim determination on her face. "Should I come or should I stay? If you'll be engaging hostile targets... I'd love to take some out, seeing as how much you've done for me already," Kiana managed to say evenly.

"I don't see why not," Mai replied thoughtfully, "Thomas did order me to baby-sit you. And while we're at it why don't we pick up Sever along the way. If this mission is going to be dangerous we could use his help. That is, unless you have any objections," She asked, making an off-hand gesture towards Lynx.

OOC: Sure thing, Pryde.

IC: Lynx checked her bag through as she stood off to the side behind the pilot's chair in the cockpit of Tybalt's ship. Four knives of varying length were enclosed in a leather case, and a sniper rifle lay at the bottom of the bag in a plain black cloth case, loaded and polished. Numerous other sharp objects, explosives and blasters were about the bag, all in seperate compartments or pockets, and Lynx knew exactly where they were.

She looked behind her and saw Mai checking through her stuff as well. The faint light in the cockpit glinted on the back of the assasin's pupils, making them glow green once again. "So, did Thomas give you a low-down on what we're doing? Tybalt's lost in his controls..." Lynx said with a smirk.

Jay sat in the fifth seat, unlike everyone else he didnt have anthing except for what he picked up. The guns, some standered belt equiment, the clothes on his back, and his wallet. He stared out the transperasteel gazing at the city action down below. He wondered what life would have been if he graduated? Maybe stationed on a ISD some where in the core..

Everyone hurried to left off, Thomas had just told them to be fast and they would get the rest form Tybalt and Pliant...

And now Sever found himself on a ship, bundled away on a hyperspace capable tin can designed to trap enough atmosphere to keep its occupants alive until they staggered their way into a new planet’s atmosphere. Sever didn’t like the idea of leaving Corusant, a dark foreboding rampaged through his mind. But that girl, Mai, had told him to come along, and it wasn’t like he had other pressing engagements to attend.

It seemed most of the ship’s occupants were traveling light, and what few items they did bring, were mostly weapon orientated. A little private war, very covert, was brewing, and Sever was headed right into it. Such is life, he supposed.

Everyone seemed to be busy getting ready for take off, so Sever found himself an out of the way corner, and waited for what ever would happen next.

IC:
Kai glanced at the glowing chronometer floating in the corner of the holodisplay. The timer ticked down the seconds remaining until the beginning of his assault. Reports from earlier indicated that all of his assault teams were in position and ready for action. His units were ready to attack The Hive from the sewers and ground floor.

Kai had decided to refrain from participating in the sewer assault teams, even though he was part of Alpha Squad. He knew that by staying back he could better command the entire operation and, hopefully, minimize casualties and collateral damage.

The timer bleeped when it reached zero, and Kai knew that his teams were attacking The Hive simultaneously. From one of the displays in his Cavalier, he watched as Alpha and Bravo Squads blew the sewer entrance and poured into The Hive's basement. Immediately the screen filled with blue streaks as his troopers fired stun bolts at the surprised occupants.

There was a flash of light as Charlie and Delta teams blew through the front entrance. Again, Kai followed the action through a display. His troops encountered light resistance as they poured into the skate rink. Again, the flash of blue told Kai that his soldiers were indeed using stun bolts.

A sudden explosion caught his eye. He immediately turned his attention back to Alpha and Bravo Squads. "Alpha Leader, flash sitrep!" Kai called into his headset.

A coughing voice responded. "Sir, the criminals are fighting back. That was just a gernade. We lost three people. Permission to use lethal force?"

Kai hesitated. Lethal force would put the most blood on his hands. Yet, to not allow lethal force meant that his soldiers could not fight back as effectively. "Stay with the stun setting. You may use your stun gernades and flash bangs, but do not use lethal force, yet. Keep me posted."

"Yes, sir."

"Sir, first floor is almost clear. There is just tolken resistance."

"Thank you, Charlie Leader." Kai turned from the displays and motioned for his command squad. "Charlie Leader, Command Squad will be moving in to provide support." Turning back to the communications technician, Kai said, "Continue to feed me reports."

He pulled on his helmet and checked to make sure that his gun was loaded. Seeing that it was, Kai ran past the group of armored vehicles and led his command into The Hive.

Immediately after entering The Hive, Kai noticed the bodies on the ground. The rising of chests told him that they were indeed alive and only stunned. The sound of gunfire echoing through the building caught Kai's attention. He vaulted over a spilled couch and came to the scene of action.

A trooper turned away from the hallway and turned to Kai. "Sir, we are pinned down right here. The enemy has stronger weapons than we expected. Permission to use lethal force?"

Kai shook his head no. He pushed his way to where his troops were exchanging shots with the hackers and motioned for them to cease fire. When they stopped, he shouted in a clear voice. "Citizens of the Empire! Come out with your hands up! The building is surrounded. If you surrender now, I guarantee that no more will die in this fire fight. Surrender now."

Seth stuck around on the rooftop long enough to watch the beginning of the Imperial attack on the Hive... It was curious... but it made sense too. He had, however, tagged the transport that Mai and her freinds had taken with a homing device... they were definately leaving... He wished he'd had the time to put a bug in the leaders office... He had say here as his target along with a group of others were apparently breifed in the mans office before they left... It would have been much easier if he had had an ear inside there to figure out where they were headed... No bother, though. The port which they had gone to really wasn't that busy of a place, and launches rarely happened within hours of each other. So if he got there soon enough it shouldn't be too hard to figure out which ship was theres...

Just for fun, Seth pulled a grenade from his belt and tossed it into the formation of imperial vehicles outside the Hive and watched as it slipped under a Chariot LAV and exploded. Sending Shrapnel in every direction, taking out a few more vehicles as the Chariot shot into the air, landing on its side and rolling over before bursting into flames. Grinning, he ran to the other side of the roof and leapt off the edge, flipping in mid air he landed astride the rented swoop that was hovering 15 feet above the 'ground level' and rockted off towards his ship. Swerving in and out of traffic lanes as he went. As he buzzed past the port that held his mark, he noticed something, and sent the swoop into a spiralling climb into the sky... He slowed to a hover, and reached into a satchel... Moving closer, he pulled up alongside the Skyhook and secured the device to the bottom of its hull.

"Perfect." he said. Rushing off he rode to his ship, where he left the swoop and made haste for low orbit around the planet. Sitting back in the cockpit, he watched a monitor in the middle of his console. It showed a staticy veiw of the port from the camera mounted on the Skyhooks hull. He waited patiently for his prey to emerge, monitoring all traffic systems comms... On coruscant, no one got out without going through the procedures unless they had extensive stealth equiptment, which he hoped this group did not possess... And that would be enough for him to figure out where they were going...

"No, he told me that either Vi' or Tybalt would fill me in once they got a chance," Mai replied nervously as she once again checked over her gear. The others had brought a rather extensive assortment of weapons with them while she merely carried a few trinkets whose uses were primarily for slicing. And, as if the presence of so much firepower around her wasn't nerve-wracking enough, she was going into space for the first time. She had lived her entire life on the surface oblivious to the universe around her and here she was on a starship and ready to embark on an incredible journey. Possibly the biggest of her life.

Part of her was nervous, while another part was excited. To think, she was going to see the stars from an angle she never dreamed she'd reach. Although the idea of having only a paper-thin hull between them and vacuum wasn't very comforting.

"Whats wrong," Lynx asked, obviously taking notice of Mai's apprehension. Her eyes had once again taken on that mysterious green glow, and the image of it somehow bothered Mai.

"Uh, i--its nothing," Mai said quickly, shaking her head slightly to try and get control of her emotions. "Its just that... I've never been in space before, so I'm kinda nervous."

“Everyone ready to go?” Tybalt asked, looking around at the rest of his team. He could tell some were quite nervous about the upcoming flight. In truth, he was worried as well. Most of his jobs had been smuggling runs through the streets of Coruscant. But the Twi’lek was good at what he did, and was ready for whatever this mission threw at him.

“We really need to get going soon. It sounded like Thomas wanted this job done soon.”

"Citizens of the Empire! Come out with your hands up! The building is surrounded. If you surrender now, I guarantee that no more will die in this fire fight. Surrender now," came a lone Imperial's voice from the other side of the corridor. Thomas was still at a loss for how the Imperials had pieced it all together. How could they have so easily figured out Thomas' secret?

"Captain," Thomas replied to the familiar voice with mock surprise. "Its such a pleasure to see you again, although I wish it had been under better circumstances. Is this about the lease, Captain? I told you I was going to send the money in, how could you not trust me? Or is this about the four dead thugs? Look, Captain, I had nothing to do with that."

"You know what this is about, Thomas," Kai's voice sounded firm.

"Hadn't a clue, actually," Thomas lied, "this is an unprovoked attack on innocents, Captain. I don't think that's going to look good on your record."

"There are no innocents here."

"Really?! Then why are your men refusing to use lethal force?"

"Because, I--"

"It is of no consequence, really," Thomas said quickly, cutting Kai off, "Because we aren't going down without a fight."

He checked his chronometer one last time. Good, he thought, those reinforcements I sent for should be here any time now. "So," he continued, "you can forget about your surrender."

With that blaster fire erupted from outside the Hive as the Imperials surrounding the building came under attack from Thomas' reinforcements. "The calvary's arrived, gentlemen," Thomas said to those around him. "Open fire and don't let them past this spot! James, follow me."

"Sure thing, Thomas," the man replied as he followed Thomas into his office. "Wipe these computers clean," Thomas told him, indicating the computer console at the back of his office. James did as he was told while Thomas went to his desk and pressed a concealed button. Part of the wall moved away revealing a secret elevator. He grabbed a blaster from one of the draws in his desk and shoved it into his belt. "C'mon," he told James as he urged him into the elevator. Once inside he hit a button that would take the elevator to the secret service tunnels beneath the building.

It only took a moment for the elevator to descend to the bottom floor and when the doors opened up Thomas stepped outside. A moving shadow caught his attention and somewhere in the darkness something came crashing to the floor. "Stay here," Thomas told James, "I'll go check it out. If something happens to me, you take this tunnel and escape. Mai and the others must know what happened here. Tell them that we were setup, tell them that I want them to find the man responsible and kill him."

"I--I got it," James replied nervously, and before he could object Thomas approached the source of the sound cautiously. He drew his blaster and held it in front of him as he turned the corner and out of James' sight. Thomas waved the blaster from side to side, checking every crevice and hiding place for any Imperial presence. Suddenly a large shadow appeared from nowhere and knocked the blaster out of Thomas' hands.

"Who--Who are you," Thomas asked apprehensively as the shadow turned to face him. A light shone on his face and Thomas gasped in horror. "It can't be," he started suddenly, "I--Its impossible!"

"Nothing is impossible, Thomas," the shadow replied.

"But, you're--"

"Hohiro Gensaku," the man said, cutting him off, "You can remember me as the man who single-handedly destroyed your empire. That is, if you survive long enough to remember anything at all."

Thomas lashed out with a right hook towards the man's head, but Hohiro quickly put up one arm and blocked the attack. Grabbing hold of Thomas' wrist and twisting it in the process. Thomas let out a yelp of pain as Hohiro twisted his arm almost to the point of breaking. "Now," he said suddenly, "tell me where Mai and the others are."

"N--No," Thomas replied between gritted teeth, "I'll never tell you anything!"

"Oh, but you must," the man replied in mock generousity, "Your life could depend on it."

"I--I've sent them away! They're beyond your reach now!"

"Sent them away? To where, might I ask?"

"What do you want with them?"

"To kill them, of course. Now are you going to tell me where they are or not?"

"Never," Thomas shouted defiantly.

"Pity," Hohiro replied regretfully, "and to think I was considering letting you live. Oh well, it matters little. I had your office bugged, Thomas, I know exactly where they are going."

"You monster!"

"Monster? Me?! No, my dear Thomas, I am not the monster. I am merely doing what I was told. The Hutts will be very pleased with your demise."

Thomas' face was a look of pure horror as he looked up into Hohiro's eyes. Then in one last act of defiance he spit in the man's face and said, "Go to hell!" Then let out a mangled scream as Hohiro snapped his arm in two. Then Hohiro lashed out at him with a rapid series of punches and kicks, each blow hitting him around his midsection. Jumping into the air, Hohiro delivered one last kick to the man's head, the force of the blow sending him sprawling to the ground.

Hohiro watched him struggle on the ground for a moment before spitting at the man's feet. In a blur of motion he rushed over to the man's side and took hold of his head. "Good bye, Thomas," he told him before snapping the man's neck. Thomas' body fell limply to the floor, and Hohiro barely noticed a soft gasp from the other end of the corridor. He turned to look and narrowly caught a glimpse of James before he ducked around the corner and took off running. Hohiro tried to follow the man, but lost him in the maze of conduits. Dammit, he thought bitterly to himself as he drew a communicator from his pocket.

He flipped it on and a gruff voice answered. "It is done," Hohiro told the voice, "Thomas is dead."

"Good," the voice replied, "and with him goes his empire. What of the others? His agents, where are they?"

"They are on their way to Corellia, m'lord. They're to pick up a shipment that Thomas was sending to Tatooine as a peace offering."

Suddenly the voice began to laugh maliciously, his laughter filled with murderous glee. "Then we will have to prepare a proper welcoming party for our guest..."

"Sir, we are being attacked from the outside! I count a good four squads worth of enemy soldiers!"

"Damn," Kai muttered. He turned from his position and headed towards the outside, where the real fighting was. "Sradac! Patch me into a loud speaker, now!"

There was a click as his communications technician obeyed. "Sir, you are on air."

Kai pulled two gernades from his belt and pulled the pins out, but kept the levers down. Then he spoke. "Citizens of the Empire! This is your last chance. In my hands are two thermodetonators with enough explosive to knock out the entire block. I suggest that you surrender now. And do not think about shooting me. They are triggered to explode if I die."

They must surrender. This lunacy stops now. On another channel, Kai called to his support unit. "I need the surrounding blocks cleared. Major Jorgenson, you may use any force necessary. Break us out of here."

Jay calmly sat as the shuttle rocketed into the upper atomsphere, he hadn't flown in a space craft since the Academy a few years ago. He felt tha andrelin rush coming back again, he yearned to take the controls and really do some flying.

He looked over at Mai who looked like she was ready to spooge all over the place.

"There's a bag under the seat usually if you need one." He looked over his shoulder and down through the viewport at Coruscant as it rapidly shrunk in size.

"Hey Vi, are you gonna get around to telling us what this about?" He asked casually as Tybalt put the ship into it's last manuevers for hyperspace.

James had lost track of where he had gone and where he was heading while ran aimlessly through the twisting maze of service ways. In a brief moment of panic he thought he would be stuck down here forever, but at least he had gotten away from whatever it was that had killed Thomas. The image of his death flashed momentarily in his mind and he suddenly fell to his knees. A looming shadow stood over the body of what had once been his closest friend and mentor.

Tears ran uncontrollably down his cheeks and for a long time he lay on his side weeping for the loss of Thomas. Suddenly a hint of sunlight caught his attention and he looked up above him. There was a ladder, and it led to a way out. A way for him to survive, a way to the surface. With red rimmed eyes and newfound determination he approached the ladder and climbed slowly up it. Once at the top he removed the manhole cover and looked out.

The fighting outside between the members of the Hive and the Imperials had long ago dwindled down into nothing. All that remained were a few punks who were still determined to resist arrest, and even they were rapidly disappearing. Thomas' empire was gone, all that he had built, all that he had worked for, all that he had bled for was destroyed. All that remained were a handful of rogue agents who now suddenly found themselves masterless.

Hands reached for him suddenly and without warning. James found himself being hauled out of the hole and onto his feet. He let out a startled gasp as he turned to look into the expressionless visor of an Imperial Trooper. "Take this one to Captain Allard," the faceless man told another and James was roughly led to a lone man who stood at the center of the carnage.

For a moment James marvelled at the level of destruction that had been wrought to the Hive and a sharp pang of loss filled his heart. The Trooper who was escorting him roughly shoved him to the ground at the feet of what James assumed was Captain Allard. "We found this one escaping through the service ways," the soldier reported and for a moment a terrifying image of the spice mines of Kessel flashed before James' eyes...

As the others lounged about the shuttle after take-off, Kiana had decided to stand. It would be most uncomfortable for her to take a seat with the sniper rifle strapped to her back. Leaning beside a viewport, the woman's discolored twilight eyes absorbed the silent beauty of space.

It would be at least an hour or two before they reached Corellia. That was quite a bit of time to burn. Inwardly debating if she should speak with the other passengers to attempt to befriend some, Kiana decided against it. During this mission, who knows what may happen. If she were to allow herself to attach, it would only bring further emotional burdens.

Human emotions, just another side effect that the Labratory looked over.

"There's nothing to be nervous about, Mai..." Lynx said, and shoved her bag into a compartment next to Tybalt. "No one touches that."

Tybalt flashed her a grin and gave her a nod before turning back to the space view. Lynx closed the cockpit door and led Mai to a Nav room, where she hit a panel which displayed a celesital map of Corellia and the surrounding systems. "You've always looked at it this way, haven't you?" she asked Mai.

"Yeah...always from a computer's perspective," she replied, gazing at the formations.

"You're going to have to learn how to look at it from your own perspective. The human one. If you can do that, and look at it from a scientific and mathematical view, Mai...you'd be able to see all facets of the possibilities of these systems. Escape routes, entry routes...anything," Lynx said softly.

"Is that how you see things? From the human perspective?" Mai asked.

"No..." Lynx trailed off, and turned the panel off. "I see it from the animal perspective."

The launch went smoothly. Everything seemed to be going as planned, but Tybalt still had his concerns. In his ever-analyzing contemplation, the Twi’lek thought of several scenarios in which their struggle to work as a team became their downfall. Could he trust in these people? Could they trust him?

After a long hour at the controls he was still deep in personal debate, trying to convince himself that the team would complete the mission without disaster.

No, we will not fail. We are Thomas’ best. He is depending on us now more than ever.

Within the next hour they would be docking on the magnificent surface of Corellia. Once they landed, they needed to be ready for all that would ensue. He leaned back in the pilot’s chair, stretching his rigid body.

“Anybody want to take the controls?" Tybalt asked gruffly over the ship’s intercom. "I need to move around.”

Kai sighed in relief as his bluff worked. The remaining Hive members soon gave up their fight when he appeared with his "thermal detonators." After they surrendered, he simply tossed the flash bangs into an empty room and walked away from the loud, but harmless, detonation.

The capture of the hackers proved to be surprisingly easy. Most of them gave up without a fight. The few that did fight back were quickly subdued. Initial reports indicated that his units suffered minimal losses. In the entire operation, he lost perhaps two squads of soldiers to injuries, and four to death. The strike was a success.

Now, one of his troopers dropped a weary captive at his feet. Kai nodded and dismissed the trooper as he eyed the captive. Removing his helmet, Allard helped the man to his feet and led him away from The Hive. "You were escaping? I can see your reasoning. But tell me, who were the ones responsible for wiping your computer cores?"

OOC:
I think this works. Pryde, you may RP Kai all you want. I do not have the time really to work on my posts. My cousin is using AOL, and I think it blocks the phoneline, so I will not stay long. Basically, Kai needs to figure out that Mai and the others are gone. You can make that happen. :)

Vi’ calmly sat in her seat, checking all her gear that she would be employing for the mission when Jay walked over to her and took a seat. As Vi’ saw his gaze drift away from her, she turned around to see a very pale looking woman digging her fingernails into the shuttles seat.

“Everything ok Mai?” she asked, a degree of concern glittering in her eyes.

It was then that Jay piped up. "There's a bag under the seat usually if you need one." He smiled, a devilish grin spreading across his face.

Vi’ just shook he head as she rolled a catalyst stick between her fingers, ensuring that it would be operational when she needed it. Satisfied that it had enough charge to complete the mission, she slid it into one of the cargo pockets of her infiltration suit. When Jay focused his attention on the blue-skinned twi-lek for a second time, his smile had mostly faded.

"Hey Vi, are you gonna get around to telling us what this about?" Jay asked casually asked.

Just then, Tybalt’s voice carried over the intercom. “Anybody want to take the controls? I need to move around.”

Vi’ depressed the COM link next to her. “Put it on autopilot for now Tybalt. There isn’t much to hit in hyperspace. We need to go over a few things with the team about the mission anyway and I wouldn’t mind hearing some of your suggestions. Besides, you’re doing enough brooding up there for the whole lot of us. Come back and have a drink with us.”

With that she let the COM go and pulled out a bottle of vintage scotch. Reaching across the table to the galley, the twi’lek produced seven short glasses. By the time Tybalt leveled the ship out and entered the galley, she had the cork out of the bottle and was busily filling each cup halfway. Corking her bottle and sticking it back in her travel bag, she raised the glass nearest to her into the air. Taking a sip, she set it down.

“You might as well take Kiana’s seat Tybalt, the Force knows that she can’t part with that sniper rifle long enough to take it off.” A mischievous grin spread across Vi’s face for Kiana’s benefit. The woman turned to her, but was not amused.

“Come on guys, why is everybody so grim around here? Such serious faces.”

Sighing, the twi’lek offered the drinks to everybody as she fired up the ships onboard holoprojector. “Ok then… down to business I guess.” Flipping thorugh some blueprints, Vi’etka started to go over the specifics of the mission.

"Hold up," John said. "I'll grab Tybalt he'll want in on this too, don't worry I can handle the ship just fine." John said with a smile.

Vi nodded her head slighty as she studied the plans, John walked by into the cockpit, "Hey Tybalt, sine you and Vi are the only ones that know the plan. I'll take the controls so you can help explain, she seems kinda lost in her thought at the moment."

Seth grinned as he watched the shuttle emerge. That had to be them. He waited until they had breached high orbit before he pulled out of his low orbit and followed them at a distance. Keeping his ships extensive sensors trained on their area. He waited, hanging back until they made the leap to hyperspace... And took his time as he had the computer calculate their jump poitn and velocity... It took only a few minutes to determine the destination. Corellia.

He waited awhile longer, knowing that the shuttle didn't have as fast a hyperdrive as his own, then leapt into hyperspace himself, following along their vector. He sat back, it was a two to three hour flight, he had plenty of time to get ready...

OOC:
(I give fair warning that I am pulling some of this out of my arse, so please forgive me if parts of this post are partially or wildly inaccurate. Also, I apologize for the shoddy post, but I am not very well focused on the objective right now if you get my meaning).

IC:
As everyone started to gather around the holo-projector, Vi’ offered them each a drink. A map of Coruscant slowly came into view. Zooming through the hundreds of thousands of buildings in the living city, she closed around one very familiar looking building. Zooming in further, a very familiar skating rink came into view. Pausing the image, she turned to the team.

“As you all know by now, there is more to the skating rink known as the Hive then its outward appearance would indicate. For those of you that DON’T know what the hive is, I will leave you to your blissful ignorance for now.”

Flipping images to a large transport, Vi’etka turned to the team again.

“A large shipment of some very important materials was loaded into a transport a few weeks ago. The shipment was bound for Tatooine as an offering to some very important personnel there.”

Rotating the image, Vi’ pulled up a picture of an Imperial Customs Cruiser attacking the transport.

“The Imperials caught wind that something important was being moved from the Hive to Tatooine and a team of Imperials intercepted the ship while en route. It goes without saying that the Imperials strip-searched the ship and the cargo was eventually uncovered. The Imperials immediately seized the transport, its crew, and the important shipment.”

The image vanished and was immediately replaced by a picture of the Corellian Sector.

“The Imperial Custom’s Cruiser towed the ship and its contents to Corellia where it was impounded by Corporate Sector Authority at the Imperial Navy’s request. As you all know, the Corporate Sector and the Imperial Navy have always held an uneasy, but mutually beneficial alliance together.”

The image broadened to show Corellia. As the image flickered, a picture of Coronet City replaced it. The image then switched to that of a very secure looking warehouse in the east side of Coronet City near the slums.

“The shipment is being held by Corporate Sector Authority in this building.”

Everybody nodded.

”Our mission is to infiltrate THAT warehouse, secure the ship, recover the shipment, and blast our way out of there. Once we have control of the ship and its cargo, we will need to blast out of the Corporate Sector by whatever means are necessary and finish delivering the shipment to Tatooine.”

Turning off the holo-projector. Vi’ turned to the team.

“This mission will not be an easy one. We will have to deal with Corporate Sector Rangers, Elite Stormtroopers, local law enforcement officers and quite possibly Fed Dub agents. However, with a good plan, a good team and a GREAT deal of luck, I think it is very possible to pull this off. Any questions?”

The lone officer helped James to his feet and then removed his helmet. "You were escaping," he asked in a level tone, "I can see your reasoning. But tell me, who were the ones responsible for wiping your computer cores?"

"I--I don't know," James lied, "I heard shooting and tried to get away. I got lost in the sewers and somehow ended up here. Look, man, I don't know whats going on here so just let me go. I had nothing to do with it, I swear!"

Lynx downed the scotch in one quick toss of her head, and placed the glass down, shaking her head as Vi offered her the bottle. "Who says we need luck? Unless you have any doubts that you can do it, Vi?" Lynx asked with a smirk.

The twi'lek shook her head quickly. "Nope. But the Rangers and the Elites worry me a tad. We don't exactly have the firepower among us to repel a large force on our tail."

"Not a problem, Vi...Who's got your six?" Lynx said as she turned. It was a running commentary with Vi that the two had started about a year before.

"You do..." Vi replied, rolling her eyes with another smile. "I can always count on you."

"Maybe not this time, we'll see. We've got another one along, so Jay might be the one covering you...I'm melting into the shadows this time, Vi...no telling where I'll end up."

Yeah, I am just going to have to rely on you a bit, Pryde. Like I said, you can RP Kai. I just do not have the time to post anything really long.

And, is it possible that Kai could be transferred to the Imp garrison that you guys are attacking? Dunno, but I am just too lazy to really develop a new Imp character. We could chalk it up to the "strange workings of the Force." ;)

IC:
"Sorry," Kai said, "wrong place, wrong time. I'm afraid that you will have to be taken in for questioning." The stormtrooper captain motioned to another trooper. "Take this one. Separate him from the others. I wish to speak to him later."

Having a dislike and distrust of alcoholic beverages, Tybalt respectfully declined shot glass from Vi.

Some of the others talked and drank, but Tybalt closed his eyes, allowing him to escape for a moment of private thought and full concentration. When his eyes opened, he was once again focused and ready to continue planning the mission.

When Lynx finished her exchange, Tybalt interjected, “This has to be perfect, but I’m sure you all realize that. We are going to do this pretty straight forward; quick and easy. I'm trying to come up with a solid plan to keep us out of trouble, and the disturbance level low. Our first move is to send in a team to secure the shipment. Some of you will provide us cover while others will help us elsewhere. With that said, who wants to go where? I’m afraid I don’t know all of you well enough to assign positions.”

OOC:
It's short, but I figured it was a good moment for Tybalt to take charge, and get things moving. We are low on time.

"I'd be up to getting the shipment. I'm a decent pilot so as soon as we got there I could just fly us out and the rest follow in Tybalt's ship. I'll need some back up though. Some real combat people." He pointed at Lynx and a guy armed to the teetvh with blades, "how about it?"

John waited a second for a reply, then turned to Tybalt. "Would you be willing to stay back and fly your ship in case we need some back up?"

Tybalt sighed, "No, that won't work. That ship is tagged. It's untouchable now. I say we move the shipment out of the compound, and into our ship. Also, I want everyone to go in. If we plan this right, we will be able to get out easily and quietly."
