Guardians of the Galaxy

Post by Cazzik » Fri Aug 09, 2013 9:45 am

Who wants in? This is being built from the ground up so I have nothing much yet. I would like to do it with whomever is interested as opposed to me coming up with everything and just having people jump in. I'm going to have Starlord, Jade, and X-O Manowar on the team. I'm trying to mix it up a little bit. I feel like thus far we have stayed pretty close to Marvel plays with Marvel and DC plays with DC. Anyway.....anyone interested?

Not sure one hundred percent yet, but I'm thinking original character. Either way the backstory will be the same even if it is a copy character.

Cazz, I would like to get involved with your GoTG thread when you get it started. I'd like to use Captain Mar'vyl character.

But my Cap M, is just at the beginning of her quest to learn about her abilities, and really doesn't have a clue how to properly use her powers yet, or even know their full potential for some time, or spurts of it during extreme emotional moments.

If you will have me, I would love to join the misfits of the Galaxy

I'll be bringing in an original character. I don't have a name or anything, won't have it down for a while, as I'll be probably unavailable for a good two weeks, on vacation.

I might claim a copy char, as well, but I've been on the fence for this particular individual since for a few days, now.

Right now nothing set in stone, Foxx. I was waiting on Cadden to see if he was going to bring a character in or not and also hashing out the details of the villains. I was thinking of doing a reemergence of the Chrell led by Revak in his new form. He's an original character and they are an original race so we could pretty much do whatever we wanted with them. If you guys have any ideas throw them out there. I want this to be a group effort as much as possible.

I've already stated I've got a character or two to bring in. As I've said in another thread, I'm on vacation, so I'm unlikely to be very active in any capacity of the term till about the 3rd or so.

However, Cazzik, I've decided at least one char will be the one I PMed you about, though I still have a ways to go till I'm ready to try to RP him. I've yet to decide if I'll keep the original char or go with a copy for my second, however. I haven't had much time to think about it, much less develop it.

Just spitballing here....but shouldn't we start up with a 'Get to together' kinda thread. Sorta a meet and greet, or forming a new GotG?

For some reason I'm thinking that for whatever reasons all our characters converge at some seedy spaceport cantina, not all together, but one of those 'fate brought them to one spot.'

I know that Mar'vyl and Creed will be a wandering group that happens upon the spaceport. Then once the 'entrance' posts are made, a good old fashion dust up happens...you know, someone pinches Gamorra on the ass or something. Or something along that line.

Just throwing it out there

Cadden, do you want us to proceed without you for the time being then and you can bring your characters in whenever you are ready?

Nich, I think Creed and Mar'vyl could definitely do the seedy spaceport thing with Beta Ray Bob. I think it would be a humorous scene. I have an entry plan for Starlord and Nova Prime. Those two will have to meet up with the other three a little later on.

We do need to settle on a villain or a conflict though. Anyone have any ideas?

Could use Maelstrom, and he has taken over what remains of the Phalanx.

I like the idea of the Phalanx. We could also use Darkseid! ;-)

Thanos will be in the thread, but more as a background character than anything else.

Here are the ideas so far.

1. Revak leads a resurgence of the Chrell.
2. Maelstrom takes control of the Phalanx.
3. Darkseid and Apokolips

I also have Ronan the Accuser if we wanted to do something with the Kree.

I could bring in Darkseid. Perhaps someone hires Starlord for a mission to Apokolips, and he has to round up a new team to take on the task. Maybe? Or something akin to that.

Starlord isn't Starlord yet. Whatever we choose as the villain needs to somehow destroy a Kree fleet at the beginning of the thread. Starlord will be the sole survivor. Said villain will also be devastating the Nova Corps as well. I think it should be some kind of an army as opposed to a single being that accomplished both feats.

Darkseid has 'lots' of Parademons for an assault on the Nova Corps, open up a Boom Tube and they pour through. Perhaps he has Maelstrom on a leash along with The Phalanx to take out the Kree Fleet. But there would need to be a reason why Darkseid would be attacking them, his quite a meticulous fellow, and doesn't attack and destroy without reason.

Okay.....so is Darkseid going to be the main villain? I'm good with that. Now what is he after and why would he attack a Kree war fleet?

Ninzi, did you want to have Ronan with the fleet when it is attacked? He and Starlord can both be one of the few survivors.

I'm going to be working on a plotline for Guardians of the Galaxy. I have a few ideas in mind. Tossing around with Ninzi a few things. Same with Mir. Right now what I'm thinking of, is a original race of aliens who are slowly subjugating planets and worlds and the Guardians have to band together to stop them. This would be a finding the heroes kind of story, starting with Allistair Creed and Captain Mar'vyl.

Sounds like a plan to me. I want to explore Mar'vyl's character a bit with ' new' people coming into her life. She will be mostly a withdrawn person, with no real understanding of the power she possesses, and Allister is really the only person who has taken care of her since the Chrell basically destroyed everyone she knew

I would love to get in on this. I've wanted to write a cosmic Marvel story for ages. Is there room in the Guardians for a recently de-atomized Terrax the Tamer without his ax? Until he finds his ax, which he doesn't know where it is, his memories will be fragmented and his understanding of his powers will be incomplete.

Let me know what you think. I'd start him in the bar getting into a fight with a group of Khund

I 'think' that Foxx's idea was that a good old fashion bar fight was best way to bring the motley crew of the GotG together. I mean....yeah....who doesn't like a good bar fight? lol

The Proprietor? (No blasters!)

Sounds like a supervillain. The Proprietor. A mastermind who keeps 'the business' running.

Also, I don't know exactly what y'all have planned for Darkseid, but if I were running this plot I would have one of his agents leading a legion of parademons to find some powerful artifact that would help Darkseid rebuild Apokalyps. Something like the space gem, or the quantum bands, or a cosmic cube. I assume the Chrell would have devastated Apokalyps & New Genesis, but with the focus of New Genesis being creation, they have recovered much faster than Apokalyps and Darkseid is playing catch-up. So Darkseid needs something to restore his planetand regain his place in the cosmos.

Maybe the Nova Force, or something from Kree science. Or maybe he's after one of the Herald of Galactus's artifacts. Surfer'sboard, Firelord's staff, Airwalker's flame or Terrax's ax. I don't know as much about DC to list off cosmic artifacts, though he could want biogenetic, self growing buildings from the Dominators.

As for generals, he could send Devilance, Kanto, Steppenwolf or Kalibak. Or each of them for different adventures.

Just tossing out ideas.

Someone didn't read the story of Mar'vyl's and Creeds first meeting...concerning the Quantum and Nega Bands. :P

See the "Its A Cosmic Thing..." thread.

As far as Darkseid, Apokolips is alive and well...somewhere. Fury has actually seen it, much to his chagrin. *smirk*
