Question regarding kyber crystals...

Post by Pryde » Wed Jun 08, 2016 9:50 am

Other than Ilum I can't seem to find other planets with confirmed kyber crystal deposits. All Wookieepedia tells me is that kyber crystals were found on "scattered planets" so my question is what are the odds one of those planets might be Ord Mantell? You know, just out of curiosity. >.>

Hmm, nvm. Lothal is also confirmed. I may move my story there.

One would think that if their location is 'subjective' like that, for story purposes, it really shouldn't matter where.

I kind of figured that too. Just wanted someone else to say it before I started doing stuff. :P

I agree. If it says "found on scattered planets," but it doesn't explicitly name them, you ought to be good with saying, "Lookit! Kyber crystals ftw!"

You know, for story purposes. ;)

Thanks to Kotor we know they were seeded on dantoonie (sp?). Though i'm sure any planet with a strong connection with the force might have them somewhere.

Kyber crystals are a rather strange topic when it comes to the new canon. It seems like it is no longer the super powerful lightsaber crystals of the past/Legends, but rather any general lightsaber crystals now. And strangely, the color of the crystals isn't natural but change only when the Force user have come in contact with it; otherwise, they are colorless. For an example, Kylo Ren has a red "cracked kyber crystal," so the raspy sounds it makes and the fiery edge isn't the cause of the kyber, but rather because it is cracked.
