How about 21?

Why doesn't anyone ever propose a vote to roll the IC year back a year or 6? It's always forward, forward, forward... Piffle. :stormtrooper:

I miss the days of 7 ABY, I suppose... Call me nostalgic but that was the golden age of the Exodus Universe.

No, I understand what you're saying.

I was the one who was kidding about setting it back. Much as I'd enjoy it, I would never advocate for it.

Reset would give me a chance to play out a imperial warlord... once we reached that level... During the rebellion era i could play with the Arim (SP?) sector :D

Technically, "I don't care"s would go toward the majority vote, in which case it's a 2:1 ratio in favor of progressing. ;)

If were jumping two years...does that mean...my character is aging two years? Or are we just moving 2 years further past the Xen'Chi thing and everything that's happened happened now? I'm slightly confused here because well...frankly 2 years of a characters life is uh...a lot. :?

I had plans in those two years!

Nah Vox, its just the normal progression, not a jump. We just decide for 18 ABY to end after Arcanix, thats all.

Actually, it is a bit of a jump. We only just recently declared it 18 ABY... Okay, on the board that happened awhile back but in game time it wasn't that long ago. We were nearing the end of the WoD just as we were saying we were in the infant months of 18 ABY now all of a sudden it's 19 ABY? It's getting harder to keep track of how much training my characters have had. I've been going under the impression that Caitlyn's only been a Jedi for a few months, granted in real life it's been like 4 years maybe more but like I said in game time it hasn't been that long at all. Now I've got gaps up the *** creeping into her bio, just where has she been for an entire year?

Anyway, not trying to be confrontational, or anything. Just trying to point out that our perspectives on this may be a bit skewed.

Its what we always do eventually Vox - we declare a year to be over and set the official date to 19 ABY. There is no jump involved, and you can keep progressing your stories to eventually reach 19 ABY, no hurry there.

Pryde: It might have been recent IC in the WoD plot. It wasn't in some others. I would have been FAR beyond Arcanix if I didn't just declare it all happening before that, for continuity's sake. That plot is holding up a lot of stuff. So much, in fact, that I made new plots leading up to it.

Re: Timeline Vote

Post by Cadden » Mon Feb 20, 2012 11:08 am

Actually, that is a good point. It wasn't very long after the declaration of 18 ABY that I started the Mando-Imp conflict along the Rimma, which was spurred from Trayus's masqueraded assault on Mandalore. And that Trayus attacked Onderon.

My last post on the Mando thread is meant to be up to speed with the rest of the WoD.

So, in essence... the Mandos and Imps have been fighting each other for a few planets for about a year. Which doesn't add up that much to me, since it was meant to be a blitz-style attack, similar in fashion to the Mandos fighting the Xen'Chi up until the end of their fight on Mandalore. Which would mean to me 2-3 months, maybe, but not a whole year.

The Battle of Fuller wasn't long after Alsakan, which started in the dawning time of 18 ABY. I can say this much: the whole Charon thing couldn't have spanned a whole year and leave as small amount of destruction as it had.

I dunno. I'm now starting to think that jumping to 19 ABY isn't a good idea yet. There's conflicts in consistency going on that question how it could be a whole year since the beginning of the whole Charon thing through the end of Sivter.

Actually, we could just blame Halo for being slow in regards to the WoD plot. It's his fault :P

Well, first off, we're not jumping two years. Current year is 18 ABY. The proposed change is to move on to 19 ABY.

Which means Freedom Nadd will have had another birthday since then and the Mandos would celebrate with him by getting him drunk and beating him with sticks. :P

The Charon were only around for about a week, so in other words, the Battle of Alsakan, the Battle of Fuller, and the Battle of Mon Calamari all happened within seven standard days time (not to mention all the other battles with the Charon). The Charon were meant to the kind of threat that had to be stopped fast or see everything lost. The Battle of Mon Calamari likely would have been the point of no return if the Charon hadn't been stopped.

So, with that in mind, the WoD will wrap up still pretty early on in 18 ABY. If you guys still want to skip ahead to 19 ABY after it, I was picturing it as being a relatively quiet year with the galaxy recovering from everything the Charon did.
